The Resting Place

MINISTRIES

To be rooted. To be redeemed. To rest in the presence of God.

You were made for rest.

Jesus invites us to come.
To remain in Him.
To live from who we are in God’s love rather than from our own effort.

As we learn to trust Him more fully, something begins to shift. Our striving loosens. Our roots grow deep into God’s love. Our lives are renewed by His Spirit, and we find freedom to live the lives God has for us.

“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.”
-Psalm 62:5

The Resting Place is a ministry created for that kind of becoming. A place to slow down, be still, and experience the presence of God.

“May your roots grow down into God’s love… and help you grow in the unforced rhythms of grace.”
-Ephesians 3:17 NLT, Matthew 11:29

Whether you arrive weary or simply longing for more, you are welcome here.

When you are ready, there is a gentle invitation.
To be rooted.
To be renewed.
To rest in the presence of God.

Who We Are

There was a season when we sensed God inviting us to surrender and trust Him more deeply—but we didn’t know how. After years of serving in ministry, pouring ourselves out for others, carrying vision, responsibility, and hope. We thought faithfulness meant finding the right answers, solving the problems, leading well, and holding everything together.  What began as exhaustion became an undoing. The strategies that once sustained us no longer worked, and God began a deeply transformational healing journey that we are still walking today.

Along the way, we discovered it wasn’t up to us to have all the answers. Instead of striving, we began seeking God Himself—His presence, His voice, His companionship. We learned to sit with Him rather than perform for Him, to receive rather than achieve.  We more rooted in His truth, more content with stillness, and more aware of His presence in our lives on a daily basis.

In that place, God met us with gentleness. He restored what had been depleted and taught us that transformation flows from intimacy. Healing and peace were not found in doing more for God, but in being with Him.  The challenges we faced have not been wasted. God has used them to cultivate deeper faith, steadier hope, and a quieter, more resilient love within us. Out of that work, He has shaped a ministry that reflects what He continues to do in our own lives.

Because we know what it is to be weary and hungry for more of God, we desire to walk with others. If you are tired, searching, or longing for deeper roots in His love, we would be honored to accompany you—so you can rediscover the peace found not in having all the answers, but in simply abiding with Him.

  • A park scene during autumn with trees shedding orange, red, and yellow leaves, sunlight shining through the branches, casting shadows on the grassy ground covered with fallen leaves.

"I began meeting with Sally in the midst of my divorce, feeling lost, confused and betrayed. My faith was shaken and I was full of doubts and questions when it came to God. Sally gave me a safe place to question and gently led me into intimate encounters with Jesus. Her own attentiveness to the Spirit allowed her to discern exactly the words, scriptures and prayers I needed to hear most. She became a vessel that allowed me to let go of my shame, come before the Lord with my doubts and once again feel safe in His arms."

  • A white house with dark doors and windows in the background, a well-maintained green lawn with striped patterns, trees with changing autumn leaves, and a fence on the right side.

"I enjoyed being under the guidance and teaching of Sally as I trained for being part of the Healing Care Ministry at my church. She is now my spiritual director, and I look forward to our sessions. She has a very calming and kind demeanor as she guides me to be still and listen for the voice of God. I grew up in a very legalistic faith tradition and have had a hard time seeing myself as loved and accepted, but as I have worked with Sally I am actually able to receive and trust God's love for me!"

  • A white modern house with a black roof and black window frames, surrounded by small trees and bushes, with a background of large trees with orange, yellow, and green leaves, and a cloudy sky.

"As I heard people share about Healing Care Groups, I wanted to know more and maybe experience some of it for myself. I was not prepared for the journey that was ahead for me. With the tender care, love, patience and support from Sally and my group members my life CHANGED emotionally, mentally and spiritually through the process and experiences introduced. This was not a quick and easy process so I needed “held” through this experience. Sally was always available to guide and ask questions. I ALWAYS counted on her listening and then asking those hard questions which moved me into new spaces. I would say one of the many blessings gained for me from my experiences through this process is now I am able to seek Jesus and the Holy Spirit and both feel and hear His presence and guidance. My journey is far from being over. I look forward to many new experiences offered through The Resting Place and am very thankful for these opportunities."
